GWS Giants and Science Week
The GWS GIANTS have partnered with Fizzics Education to bring science into schools. On Tuesday the 27th of August they will come to St Thomas the Apostle Primary to present two science shows. Year 5 and 6 will see qualified science educators explore static and current electricity, magnetic repulsion/attraction, electromagnetism, simple circuits and renewable energies in a fun and exciting show. Students will witness a 100,000 volts discharged in a flash and explore the Van De Graf generator while they discover how magnets and solar energy work. Years 3 and 4 will explore the concepts of heat, pressure, convection and water cycles as students gain an appreciation of meteorology. Crushing cans, flying saucers, tornado tubes and drinking boiling water are some experiments your students will witness in this exciting science show on ‘how the weather really works’. We look forward to these exciting shows!
