Dear Parents/Carers,
Congratulations to our wonderful Kindergarten children and their teachers for the milestone of 100 days at school. Thank you to everyone involved in helping them celebrate this week.

School Asset no.3 “I am a Self-Manager”
Last year our staff investigated the work of James Nottingham. He has developed the concept of ‘the learning pit’, or the learning challenge.
If you have some time this is a great animation describing what a learning pit is all about.
We are teaching our children to understand that finding learning challenging is a good thing, and mistakes are part of learning. Remember how good it feels when you solve a problem after a lot of persistence, trial and error and even frustration.
Helping our children to be confident self-managers means teaching them to be resilient, responsible, independent and growing through the learning pit. If your child asks you for an answer to something, rather than giving them the desired answer reply with a question, “what do you think the answer could be? Why? Why not?”
Just quietly, it also helps you out if you don’t know the answer and gives you time to investigate it for yourself!
Many Blessings and thank you for your continued support,
Judy Egan
