Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for participating today in our “Bring Your Dad or Special Person” to the Class Meeting of your child/children. It was great to see your smiling faces (and a lot of bearded children). I would like to wish all our dads and grandads a lovely day for Father’s Day on Sunday. I hope you get to have some time outside celebrating with your family. Take care and stay safe.
Yours in partnersip,
Ursula Jamieson

RE Week 8 - Who do you say I am?
Kindness across Kambah
Thank you to all of the families who have hung some kindness tags around the neighbourhood. There are still plenty more tags available if you would like to collect one from the front of the school to join in the fun.
Morning Prayer
It is inspiring to see the many students engaging with prayer each morning. It is a calm and centring way to begin each morning.
This week in Community Prayer, we are learning more about Pope Francis’ document Evangelii Gaudium which means THE JOY OF THE GOSPEL. Pope Francis always delivers a strong message about caring for the poor. If we all gave just a little bit to someone in need, the world would be a happier and more just place. When we look at how many people are suffering across the world it can be overwhelming. But if we look at doing something small everyday for someone who needs it we will create a wave of kindness in our world.
Pope Francis also reminds us that peace is not just about having no arguments and no war. Peace comes when all people in the world have what they need to live a healthy and happy life.
Have a lovely weekend!

About Will Lipscombe
Will was a courageous and inspirational member of our St Thomas community. Sadly, Will passed away in 2015. Will was well known for his understanding of heroes as being “ordinary individuals who find the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” Will remains a hero in the hearts of many people in our community.
This means that even though Will is no longer with us in person, he will always live on in the heart of our community.
Our community has a HUGE heart.
Courage, spirit and honesty form the legacy that Will leaves in our community.
This year, Will’s family has had a book published about Will’s life. The book talks about several teachers at St Thomas the Apostle School and the impact they had on Will and his family.
This is a reminder of how lucky we are to be a part of this wonderful community. It also talks about how brave Will was.
The image on the cover of the book is one of Will’s drawings. It is a great reflection of bravery and courage.
Each year we offer an opportunity for students to contribute an artistic work in memory of Will. This year, we ask you to reflect on someone you respect for the bravery they show.
