Dear Parents/Carers,
Last Saturday night we shared the first of our Confirmation ceremonies for 2019. While the rain poured and lots of the congregation were soaked, there was a real sense of peace and love, gifts freely given by the Holy Spirit. I look forward to this Saturday night at 6pm to share this beautiful sacrament with our school and parish families. Our sincere thanks to everyone involved in the preparation of the children.
Sh.O.W Day- Sharing Our Work
The children were very excited to share their learning on Tuesday afternoon with parents/carers, grandparents and friends. I think it’s really important for us to give families plenty of opportunities both formal and informal to share in their children’s learning journey. Thank you so much to the teachers and to all our families who came along, we have included some lovely photos.
Advice of Enrolment
At this time of the year we ask parents/carers to advise us if their child/ren will not be returning in 2020. Other than Year 6 students, please let Jodie know via email if your child will not be returning.
Staffing for Term 4
Principal: Ursula Jamieson
Assistant Principal (Acting): Penny Vanzwol
Religious Education Coordinator (Acting): Rachel Kennedy
Coordinator: Luke Mooney
We are excited to welcome back Mrs Jacinta Housler who is returning from maternity leave. She will be part of the Year 1 team allowing us to utilise Ruth Blackwell’s artistic skills in the library. Mark Bazzana (who hasn’t really left us) will join the 5/6 team.
School Holidays
I know school breaks can be difficult for families around the organisation and care of children with parent work commitments. I hope during the next couple of weeks there might be less stress in the morning routine, maybe a couple of sleep ins, possibly a pyjama day, but most importantly some ‘down time’ for everyone to catch their breath and enjoy being together.
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the children, parents and staff who have supported me this term in the Principal role. I’m grateful to be accessing some leave with my family next term.
I wish all our families safe travels, calm seas and the warmth and joy of Spring,
Many Blessings

RE Week 10 - Energised Through the Soul
Confirmation
Last Friday, the Year 5/6 students participated in a Retreat Day as part of the Sacramental Program for Confirmation. The children demonstrated maturity and enthusiasm throughout the day. Following Mass, Fr Peter spoke to the children about his calling to be a priest. He shared the story of how he left Vietnam as well as sharing his exceptional musical gift, playing several pieces on the guitar.
The children were thoroughly engaged and enjoyed learning more about Fr Peter's incredible journey and his unwavering faith. In the afternoon, three students from McKillop came and spoke to the children about their faith. They then stayed and helped us with a series of 'minute to win it' games. The senior students were impressive in the way they interacted with the children and were generous with their time, even packing up after we left the hall for our final prayer.
The day would not have been so successful without the help of some wonderful family members; Dennis, Trudie, Sue, Bernie, Danielle, Barb who worked tirelessly to set up and clean up serving a delicious morning tea and a Mexican feast for lunch!
Last Saturday, 24 of the candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation. The atmosphere was of one of reverence, the children demonstrating exemplary behaviour. This weekend the final 24 will receive the Sacrament. We continue to pray for these children.
May God bless each of you during the holidays. Enjoy the peace that comes with doing things a little more slowly without the demands of the school day. #blessed!
