RE Week 5 - "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life” (John 14:6)
Today 3/4G led us in a beautiful Community Prayer. We heard from the Gospel of John:
So they said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst."
During this time of Lent, we prepare ourselves for the Risen Christ at Easter. The bread of life refers to nourishment of our soul. By making time for prayer and meditation, we give ourselves the opportunity to feed our soul and strengthen our relationship with Jesus. Relationships are reciprocal and Lent is a good time to remember to make time to let Jesus be a priority in our lives. At St Thomas the Apostle, we meditate regularly. If you are wondering about how we do this, please ask your child to show you how to, they are experts!
Sacraments
We look forward to seeing the children who will be preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation at one of this weekend’s enrolment masses. A reminder if you cannot make it to contact either myself, or Father Praveen.
Project Compassion
Each class has a Project Compassion box. Sometime during Lent, please send in a donation for your child’s class box.
“Spanning across the six weeks of Lent each year, Project Compassion brings thousands of Australian schools, parishes and supporters together to raise funds for people living in some of the most vulnerable communities across the world. Your generous support can help change lives today - and For All Future Generations” Project Compassion Website.
St Vincent de Paul
Thank you to those who so generously donated this week! This week we are asking families to donate some breakfast cereals, longlife milk and tea bags. Please consider adding one of these items to your weekly shop to make life a little easier for those in need in our community. Children can bring items in any day and place them in the St Vincent de Paul tub in each classroom.
****A reminder that Community Prayer will be held in the Church at 2:30 pm every odd week of the term and all families are invited to join us. ****

Some great work was created this week in the library. Year 1 and 2 were writing sentences about characters from books and an almost finished wall from the Year 3-6's.

Some reminders:
- Return books on your borrowing day to the green trolley by the stage
- Borrowing days are listed below:

Kelli Rootes
Teacher Librarian
This week I have been out getting pats from all my friends on the playground. I enjoy going with my teacher helper and making sure everyone is happy and helping some of those who are feeling sad. I get very tired from my duties and love to snuggle under Mrs Trussler's desk for a well earned rest.
